Working, late nights, cold temperatures, sun exposure, exercise, showers – there’s a lot of moisture-sapping activities we subject our face to.  We know that our skin is made up largely of water and when it lacks an adequate supply it loses suppleness and elasticity, leading to those dreaded signs of ageing. So why are we not extra vigilant with it?

Lucikily, hydration masks are just the thing for a quick ‘skin drink’ that will leave quench thirsty skin that was in need of a little pick-me-up with a big dose of moisture.

You can use hydration masks two ways. For a quick at-home-spa treatment, slap some on a clean face, leave for 15 minutes and then wash or wipe off. Or do an over night treatment, and spread a layer over your complexion (and neck and decollete) for a mositure boost. You’ll see calmer, hydrated skin with an added softness and evenness to the complexion.

We recommend using one of these a few times a month. Sometimes, we do an overnighter, but more than likely we’ll catch up on a boxset on Netflix wearing a moisture mask. We may look scary with our hair tied in a top knot, our face masked up and our hands in hydration gloves – but we love our little evening pamper sessions!

One of the masks we use is Gatineau Aquamemory High Hydration Cream-Mask, which is a moisturising mask which brings immediate relief and long-lasting hydration to dry and dehydrated skin. Replenishes moisture levels and reduces tightness. Marine extracts help your skin retain mositure so it is hydrated for longer. You will notice dehydration lines become reduced and your skin is brighter, more comfortable and radiant.

Apply an even, generous layer to cleansed skin. Leave to work for 10-15 minutes then remove excess cream with cotton wool pads or rinse with warm water. Repeat 2-3 times a week. For extra dry skin, apply a thin layer to the face and neck before bed and leave on overnight.
