Does calcium make you grow taller?

In this age of tweaking our looks and appearance, could we actually become taller by changing our diets?

Scientists certainly seem to think so, as researchers see no real reason why our heights cannot be altered by a change in our diets and adapting our exercise routines.

This video certainly seems to think so:

We all more or less stop growing by the time we get to eighteen. But the above video states that it is possible to add a couple of inches to your body by using calcium – even by the time you get to your mid-twenties.

Of course, this all depends on several things like your diet, lifestyle and habits. So if you’re out of your teens and you’re really focused on becoming a little bit taller, then here are some of the suggestions you need to try:

  • Have a glass of milk everyday and eat foods that are rich in Vitamin D.
  • Stay out as much as possible in the sunshine – perfect source of vitamin D
  • Have a calcium supplement every day.
  • This should all be teamed up with a good schedule of exercise.

Ideal exercised for improved height include running, yoga, stretching and swimming – anything really where the body is stretched and toned regularly.

Moving your body like in gymnastics also helps in better absorption of calcium by the body.

When you exercise, the body fat gets used and the calcium gets absorbed by the bones. This will help you to grow taller.

Does it really work? Well there’s only one way to find out. With so many people complainging of shrinking as they get older, we’d love to hear from anyone whose height has gone up since passing into their twenties!
