We’re not afraid to admit we’re lip balm junkies. What started off as a Carmex addiction when we were younger has now developed into the liberal use of slightly upmarket products. To wean us off the Carmex, we started to use Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream and Dr. Hauschka Lip Balm.
The Dr. Hauschka one has been in our handbag ever since, and applied daily. This lip balm really does soothe, nurture and protect.
Not only does it supply intensive soothing lip care for dry, chapped lips, this rich balm promotes skin renewal as it moisturises and softens. We also love that it provides a translucent shine and helps visibly reduce fine lines around the mouth (which we’ve spotted more and more of as we get older).
Calendula and St. John’s wort extracts encourage renewal. Silk and anthyllis strengthen delicate lip tissue to give the lips a velvety feel and a long-lasting warm, floral scent. This intensive care results in beautiful, soft lips.
We’re in love with its ingredients too. While Carmex provided a cheap, medicated hit, the formulation of Dr. Hauschka Lip Balm is complete botanical quality.
Pure silk powder with extracts of carrot, anthyllis, calendula and St. John’s wort soothe and fortify lips. Nurturing jojoba and apricot kernel oils soften and renew lips. Beeswax and cocoa butter protect and soothe chapped lips.
You just apply when you need to. Unlike Carmex, it isn’t addictive, but it gives you the same 100% moisturised sensation. We’re still in Carmex mindset, so we apply it throughout the day as a habit, but we could easily just apply some at the start of a working day or exposure to cold weather.
Just apply a small amount to lips as needed. To reduce premature wrinkling, apply around entire mouth area. The lips are composed of mucous membranes so will benefit from night time application.
